DriClime® Fabrics

Marmot's Microclimates Collections is the foundation of an all-season layering system. These are some of the most versatile performance garments made because they employ the most advanced fabric technologies in existence to maintain a comfortable microclimate next to the skin. Like a "cast iron skillet", they go everywhere, work every time, and survive incredible abuse. They are lightweight, compact-able, warm, wicking, and quick-drying. They can be used on approaches, and added to as the weather worsens.

Driclime® Base Layer

This is your second skin, your foundation layer to build the most effective layering system possible. Driclime® Base Layer has undergone the most extensive testing program we've ever devised, with prototypes being worn in different conditions all over the world. It is based on a bi-component knit that has huge moisture transport. Quickly and efficiently, it mechanically moves moisture away from your skin and then spreads it out to evaporate on the surface of the fabric. Driclime® 3- Dimensional Wicking maintains a warm, dry microclimate next to your body as it wicks and disperses moisture. Base Layer comes in 3 weights for different uses and activity levels: Lightweight, Stretch Midweight and Power Stretch. SPF 15-20. 5% shrinkage.

Driclime® P-275 - is a plaited bi-component tricot knit made of two distinct surfaces of 100% polyester yarns. The surface closest to the skin has a looped surface, which decreases the surface area next to the skin. The outer layer has a special filament yarn with an open capillary structure, which powerfully pulls moisture away from the body and allows it to spread out and evaporate. We call this 3 dimensional wicking.

Used in Driclime® Windshirt, Sherpa shirt, gloves.

Driclime® Micro - a microfiber version of Driclime® with a softer hand and warmer initial touch and great moisture transfer.

Used in linings of Driclime® series Polarguard 3D bags.

Driclime® Underwear

Driclime® Midweight - a 100% polyester bi-component pique/mesh knit with ESP yarn for comfort stretch. Utilizes smaller denier spun yarns with higher capillary action on the outside to dimensionally wick the moisture away from the body and spread it over the surface for quick drying. Inner surface is brushed for added comfort and warmth. Treated with Qwick for enhanced 3 dimensional wicking.

Weight: 5.4-oz/sq yd.

Driclime® Lightweight - a lighter version of our midweight without the ESP yarn. Best for initial base layers and higher aerobic activities. Soft cottony hand. Treated with Qwick for enhanced 3 dimensional wicking.

Weight: 3.2-oz/sq yd.

Shelled Driclime® - This stuff has reinvented layering. One garment combines Driclime®'s awesome moisture transfer with a wind-resistant, highly breathable shell. Shelled Driclime® can be worn next to the skin as a wicking base layer, layered with other garments as mid-layer insulation, or worn alone as a low-bulk, one-piece performance system for heavy sweating. It defines versatility. Once the moisture is spread out it evaporates through the quick-drying shell -- far from your skin so there is no chilling effect, especially important in cold and windy situations. This is the professional climber's favorite.
